What is the Ribbon Game?
The ribbon game is a staple at many conventions in the United States of America where players can meet up with others to trade, give or receive collectable ribbons. These ribbons can then be attached to the player's convention badge to display, or kept as keepsakes.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE GIVING RIBBONS TO PARTICIPATE IN GETTING RIBBONS. Most ribbons are freely given with the completion of a 'challenge' of some sort.
How do I get ribbons?
Collecting ribbons: To find someone handing out ribbons, look for a button that states "I have ribbons" or attend a ribbon game meetup! Ask the participating person how you can get a ribbon from them. Some common ways to get ribbons are:
- Performing a quick and easy task such as demonstrating your favorite "Jojo Pose"
- Answering an easy question such as "what is your favorite anime?"
- Purchasing an item from an official Sekaicon vendor or artist (note: selling ribbons is against convention policy, as is anyone outside of approved vendors and artists awarding a ribbon with purchase)
- Trading one of your ribbons for theirs (note: please do not trade ribbons you have gathered from other participants. When trading ribbons, please aim to bring your own personal ribbons to trade.)
Awarding ribbons: If you would like to bring your own ribbons, there are plenty of ways to create your own!
- Order with the Sekaicon group order (check the top of the page for details!)
- Order independently from a site that prints ribbons such as marcopromos.com, pcnametag.com or ribbonsgalore.com
- These sites will require you to create your own ribbon design and upload it to their website—don't worry, it's super easy!
